Initiated in 1993, Guangzhou International Travel Fair has been held successfully for 16 sessions. Nowadays, it has grown into an important tourism event for promoting, branding and reaching business deals.

Guangzhou International Travel Fair has been recognized as one of the most important significant annual international travel fairs in the Asian-Pacific Region for its extensive influence upon the tourism industry and related industries at home and abroad.

Guangzhou International Travel Fair 2008 (GITF 2008) successfully completed on April 6 in Guangzhou Jinhan Exhibition Center. Covering a total display area of 15,025 sqm, the three-day show attracted altogether 425 exhibitors from 36 countries and regions, with 43.7% coming from abroad, including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Cuba, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Kenia, Korea, Korean Gyeonggi, Malaysia, Mauritius, Madagascar, Nepal, Philippines, Poland, Qatar, Russia, Saipan, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sril Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, U.A.E, Viet Nam, China Hong Kong, China Macao, China Taiwan and etc... High participation came from national and regional tourism boards, travel agencies, airline companies, hotel groups, tourism attraction and resorts. GITF 2008 saw an excellent turnout of 58,768 visitors from 30 countries and regions.
