A section of the Great Wall of Qin Dynasty (221 to 206 BC) (qín cháng chéng 秦长城) stretches for 100 kilometres through the territory of Baotou (bāo tóu 包头), and the wall in Guyang County (gù yáng xiàn 固阳县), 10 metres high, presents a magnificent sight. A section located in Shiguai district (shí guǎi qū 石拐区) is the oldest existing part of the Great Wall. |

Serving as the capital seat, Hohhot (hū hé hào tè 呼和浩特) is located in the heart of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with Dahei River (dà hēi hé 大黑河), a tributary of the Yellow River, in the north, and close to the Beijing-Baotou Railway (jīng bāo tiě lù 京包铁路). The Wanbu Huayanjing Pagoda (wàn bù huá yán jīng tǎ 万部华严经塔) is located in the southeast of Baita (bái tǎ 白塔) Village in the east suburbs about 17 kilometers (11miles) from Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Wanbu Huayanjing Pagoda was said to be built in Emperor Shengzong's (shèng zōng 圣宗) reign (983 - 1031) of the Liao (liáo 辽) Dynasty (916 - 1125). In 1982, the Wanbu Huayanjing Pagoda became a national key cultural relic site.

The Great Mosque (qīng zhēn dà sì 清真大寺), located in the older southwestern part of Hohhot, was built during the reign of Emperor Kangxi (kāng xī 康熙) of the Qing Dynasty (qīng cháo 清朝) (1644-1911 AD) after throngs of the Hui (huí 回) Muslim Minority migrated from Xinjiang (xīn jiāng 新疆) to Mongolia. |

Xilitu Zhao (xí lì tú zhào 席力图召), also called Xiaozhao Temple (xiǎo zhào sì 小召寺), is situated in Stone Lane (shí tóu xiàng 石头巷), Yuquan District (yù quán qū 玉泉区), Hohhot City. It is about 100 meters (328 feet) away from the famous Dazhao Temple (dà zhào sì 大召寺). Xilituzhao is a key cultural protection unit of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. |
