Nanchang

Nanchang (Nán chāng 南昌), literally translated "Southern Prosperity", is the capital of Jiangxi Province (jiāng xī shěng 江西省) in southeastern China. It is located in the north-central portion of the province, famous for its scenery, rich history and cultural sites. Anciently, Nanchang was most famous for its merchants, alchemists and tea. It was one of the key transit stations for porcelain, from the ancient town of Jingdezhen (jǐng dé zhèn 景德镇) to the northeast. The city remains an important farming area for grains, edible-oil, meat, milk, aquatic products and vegetables.   Show map

Mount Sanqingshan (sān qīng shān 三清山) is a renowned Taoist Mountain located in northeast part of Shangrao City (shàng ráo shì 上饶市), Jiangxi Province (jiāng xī shěng 江西省) with outstanding scenery. It has high geographic, aesthetics and culture value, combining fantastic natural scenery, especially the forest of granite hills scenery, and Taoism culture with thousand years of history. The World Heritage Committee spoke highly of heritage value of Mount Sanqingshan. Wuyuan County (wù yuán zhèn 婺源镇), on the boundary of three provinces in Jiangxi's (jiāng xī 江西) northeastern corner, has a magnificent landscape dotted with strange caves, deep secluded rocks and numerous historic sites. It has been described by some overseas photographers as the "most beautiful of Chinese villages". It is home to some of the best-preserved ancient architecture in China. Lushan (lú shān 庐山) lies in the south of Jiujiang City (jiǔ jiāng shì 九江市), Jiangxi Province (jiāng xī shěng 江西省), about 36km away from the center of the city. It is on the north bank of Poyang Lake (pó yáng hú 鄱阳湖), the south bank of the Yangtze River. It stretches about 25km from the south to the north and 20km from the east to the west. It is among the first Key Scenic Districts as "National Geopark of China (guó jiā dì zhì gōng yuán 国家地质公园)", which was included in the UNESCO world heritage list in 1996.   Show map
