Hukou Falls

Hukou Falls (hú kǒu pù bù 壶口瀑布) is in the middle of Jixian (jí xiàn 吉县) of Shanxi (shān xī 山西) province and Yichuanxian (yí chuān xiàn 宜川县) of Shaanxi (shǎn xī 陕西) province, with the total area of 60 square kilometers. Hukou falls is the largest waterfall of the Yellow River in the world and second-largest falls behind by the Guizhou (guì zhōu 贵州) Huangguoshu (huáng guǒ shù 黄果树) Waterfalls in China. In other words, Hukou falls is a symbol of China.

Linfen (lín fén 临汾) is located in the southern part of Shanxi province (shān xī 山西), having an area of 20,275 square kilometres. Taihang Mountain (tài háng shān 太行山) and Lvliang Mountain (吕梁山) are in the east and west of the city, respectively. Fenhe River (fén hé 汾河), one of the main branches of the Yellow River (huáng hé 黄河), flows through the city centre from north to south.The city is the political, economic, and cultural center in Linfen Area. Qiao Jia Dayuan
Located in the middle of Qiaojiabao village (qiáo jiā bǎo cūn 乔家堡村) in Shanxi province (shān xīshěng 山西省), Qiao Jia Dayuan (qiáo jiā dà yuàn 乔家大院), also known as Zaizhongtang (zài zhōng táng 在中堂), was the mansion of the famous merchant family Qiao in the late Qing dynasty (qīng cháo 清朝). The compound was constructed in 1755 by Qiao guifa (qiáo guì fā 乔贵发), the first member of the family to strike it rich selling tea and bean curd beyond the Great Walll. Returning to his hometown, he built his dream home, to which successive gernrations added until it reached its present size. It covers 8724 square meters with 313 rooms. Qiao Jia Dayuan represents the typical style of northen folk houses with great historical value.

Mt. Hengshan
(héng shān 恒山), known as the northernmost of the "Five sacred Mountains" (wǔ yuè 五岳), is located about 60 kilometres south of Datong (dà tóng 大同), Shanxi Province (shān xī shěng 山西省). In the east, it links with the Mt. Taihang (tài háng shān 太行山), and to the north, it faces the vast plateau. In the past, people called Mt. Hengshan "A Fort Guarding the North Borders" (rén tiān běi zhù 人天北柱), because of its magnificence and wonder. Mt. Hengshan attracts visitors by its natural sceneries and man-made landscaping.
