Dadonghai

   Dadonghai
Dadonghai (dà dōng hǎi 大东海) is located in east Sanya City (sān yà shì 三亚市) of Hainan Province (hǎi nán shěng 海南省). It is an arched bay, surrounded by the green hills at its back. The blue sea water, white sand beach, green coconut trees and the warm sunshine make the Dadonghai an ideal place for winter swimming.

There is a legend goes that Dadonghai is the place where the Black Dragon paddled. He fell in love with the sunshine and warm weather in Dadonghai and pleased the Dragon King of the South Sea (nán hǎi lóng wáng 南海龙王) to lend Dadonghai to him. The King Dragon permitted. However, the Black Dragon brought typhoon and made the wave run high, which has a great influence to the daily life of the fishermen. Therefore, the Dragon King just permits the Black Dragon to come to Dadonghai occasionally.

In Dadonghai, you can swim freely in the clean sea water. When you are tired, you can have a rest lying on the beach, listening to the voice of the sea. Children are playing on the beach, collecting the sea shells, catching crabs, or piling up a pagoda with sand. In the evening, you can have a barbecue in the park, which will take you great joy.

You can ride the motorboat going for a drive, or you can take the sight-seeing submarine to enjoy the undersea scenery. All of these will make your tour in Dadonghai unforgettable.
