Qingyan Ancient Town
(qīng yán gǔ zhèn 青岩古镇) is located at the southern rural area of Guiyang City (guì yáng shì 贵阳市), Guizhou Province (guì zhōu shěng 贵州省). It was originally built in the year 1378 during Ming Daynasty (míng cháo 明朝). It is one of the most famous ancient towns in Guizhou.

Dingguang GateWalking along the ancient courier route outside the town, and run up the stairs, you can see the south gate of Qingyan Ancient Town---- Dingguang Gate (dìng guǎng mén 定广门). The town is a military garrison during old times, there are still the relics of the ancient wall in the town.

Nor far from the Dingguang Gate, there is an archway, which is 9.5 meters high and 9 meters wide. On the south and north side of the archway, there are stone drums and lions standing there. In the front of the archway, there carved four characters “升平人瑞"(shēng píng rén ruì), which is bestowed by Emperor Daoguang (dào guāng huáng dì 道光皇帝). The archway is regarded as a rare artwork.

An Overall View of Qingyan Ancient TownGoing through the archway, along the walking roads and steps constructed with flagstones, there are old architectures on both sides of the streets. All of them are with black bricks and grey tiles, carved wooden window and doors, which makes the street antique.

Qingyan Ancient Town is not large, with an area of only 3 square kilometers, but it has ancient Buddhism and Taoism temples, Catholic Church and Christ Church, which is rarely seen within China. On the first day and the 15th day of every month, there are many people in the temples, while every Thursday, there are people at church.

The ancient town invites the fame of Multicultural collection of Ancient Town for the harmonious coexistence of east and west cultures, modern and traditional cultures, religions cultures and revolutionary cultures.
