In 2007, China moved in one jump to be the world’s largest producer in solar cells and the global output this year is 4000.5 MWp. It is estimated that nearly 50 companies in China are constructing, expanding or planning Siemens improved production lines of polycrystalline silicon. The overall output is over 100,000 tons; the total investment is RMB 100 billion. China produced 1088 MWp solar cells in     2007, exceeding that of Japan (920MWp) and Europe (1062MWp).

The production of module encapsulation industry was 721 MWp in 2006 and 1717 MWp in 2007. Module output is 1.5 times that of cells, and 50% of the cells used for modules were imported. The solar and PV power generation market in China has developed rapidly.The installed capacity was 20MWp in early 2007 and 200MWp at the end of that year.

Global photovoltaic power generation also continues developing in a rapid and healthy way. Although Solar-grade silicon material is still a constraint of current development, the relationship between supply and demand is moderated gradually. The prospect of photovoltaic power generation of the world is more and more promising. China has become the world's largest producer of solar cells and its photovoltaic industry chain has a gradually balanced harmony and healthy development, except that of silicon materials.

Shanghai New Energy Industry Association decides to hold SNEC 3rd (2009) International Photovoltaic Power Generation Expo ceremonially in Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) from May 6th to 8th, 2009, upon the success of SNEC 2007 and SNEC 2008.

Description

With the theme of "Develop New Energy, Benefit All Mankind", SNEC (2009) PV Power Conference consists of six sessions: Keynote Session, CEOs Forum, Investment and Financing Forum, Silicon Material Forum, Thin-film Cells Forum, and PV Industrial Development and Technology Forum. Meanwhile, we have invited some international associations to organize and chair some other sessions under different topics respectively at the conference so as to make SNEC (2009) PV Power Expo an influential international PV power event held in Shanghai, China.

The exhibits cover the categories of Production Equipments, Solar Cells/Panels (PV Modules), Components, Solar Materials, Solar Products, PV Projects and System Integrators, etc.. It is estimated that the total exhibition area of 60,000 sqm shall be sufficient to accommodate over 700 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors.

SNEC (2009) PV Power Expo is designed to serve the entire photovoltaic (PV) industry value chain and to be a large-scale international professional PV event. It will provide the exhibitors and professional visitors with an opportunity of face-to-face communication and a platform of technical and commercial communication as well as international cooperation for solar industry.
