38 cultural programs will be showed in Guangzhou during the Spring Festival which is to be launched on this Jan. 26th, according to the city's Cultural Bureau.

Cantonese Opera

Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe, Hong Dou (Red Bean) Cantonese Opera Troupe, Guangdong Puppet Troupe, Guangdong Music Troupe, Guangzhou Drama Troupe and the Guangzhou Ballet Troupe will be the main performers of the shows.

All the performances can be seen from Jan. 16th to Feb. 15th in the city's Bei Lei Theatre (蓓蕾剧院) with a low price of 150 yuan, 100 yuan and 50 yuan. Team tickets will get a more reasonable price.

The Bei Lei Theatre was built in 1984 and had a 4-year renovation during 2004 to 2008. The new theatre with larger space and advanced facilities has 1,226 seats. It is now the best theatre of the city.

Museum

Museums of Huangpu Military Academy, Sanyuanli Memorial, Peasant Movement Institute, Guangzhou Insurgence Memorial and the March Twenty-ninth Insurgence Headquarters will be opened free to the public during the Spring Festival.

Apart from the normal free open day, more museums are opened free on a specific day for the specific people. May 12th Nurses' Day for the nurses; Sep. 10th Teachers' Day for the teachers and the Oct. 26th Sanitation Workers' Day is for the sanitation workers.
