Partners you can rely on

Each of the two joint venture partners possesses ideal prerequisites in order to make this project a success. The Chinese company CURC is an international trader in rubber raw materials, products, installations and technologies and is the organiser of International Tires & Rubber Tech, a trade fair for rubber products and tyres where, however, not enough altemphasis has been placed on tyres for the existing market needs. While CURC is inputting know-how, influence possibilities and existing sales channels on the Chinese market, the Essen fair company is guaranteeing the force of attraction of the "REIFEN" fair concept and the professional management of an internationally oriented fair organisation. Both sides can make use of their own competence and can complement each other. Additional support is being provided by Bundesverband Reifenhandel und Vulkaniseur-Handwerk e.V. (BRV - the "Federal Association of the Tyre Trade and the Vulcanisers' Skilled Trade", Bonn). The trade association of the sector is active all over Germany and has been the ideal sponsor of REIFEN in Essen for around two decades.

Messe Essen

altMesse Essen has been staging the International Tyre Fair REIFEN in Essen since 1960. In the eighties REIFEN developed into the biggest tyre fair in the world.
REIFEN ESSEN is highly esteemed by the almost 500 exhibitors from over 40 countries because it always succeeds in bringing together an international range of products and worldwide demand. In 2006, for example, some 17,000 visitors from 90 countries came to REIFEN. Messe Essen has been active in China for 20 years and there, together with the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, it holds the welding fair BEIJING ESSEN WELDING which is now seen as the second largest welding fair in the world after the parent event SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN in Essen.

BRV

The Bundesverband Reifenhandel und Vulkanisation BRV has been the sponsor of REIFEN ESSEN since 1984. Its many international contacts and its great involvement in the industry mean that the BRV has made a major contribution to the positive development of REIFEN.

Contacts to Chinese associations and government agencies have existed since the mid-nineties, particularly in the field of training and courses for vulcanizers.

CURC

altChina United Rubber (Group) Corporation CURC was established in 1993 evolving from the rubber department of the Chinese Ministry of Chemical Industry. It is an engineering corporation which developed through investments of 83 large and medium-size rubber factories, raw material plants, rubber machine factories, research and design institutes. The main activities of CURC are international trade and the staging of trade fairs, discussions and technical training.

Every year since 2001, for example, CURC has staged the International Fair RUBBER TECH with some 300 exhibitors from 20 countries and 5,500 visitors from 30 countries.
CURC is a member of the board of the China Rubber Industry Association, the Chinese tyre manufacturing association and has good contacts with the competent government departments. CURC has a good image and a lot of influence in the Chinese rubber industry.

China - A profitable market for export-oriented manufacturers of tyres, tyre accessories and repair shop equipment

altFor more than twenty years China has had one of the fastest growing economies in the world. The standard of living is rising continuously and at the same time also the demand for commercial and private vehicles. New markets are opening in China for the tyre trade and repair shops. More and more businesses are opening to meet the growing demand in the tyre replacement and service sector.

Protection of both ressources and the environment are regularly given high priority in the Chinese governments five-year plans. Thus vulcanization and retreading, which up to now have mainly played a role in the vehicle fleets of public transport companies, are becoming increasingly important. And the recycling of old tyres is also considered very important. In order to be able to meet the increasing demand and provide up-to-the-minute information on the tyre sector, on competition and the latest technologies, Chinese tyre companies are seeking a stage modelled on the International Tyre Fair

Information on the Chinese tyre market

China is the worlds biggest rubber consumer. In 2005 the figure was 4.4 million tonnes. China is the worlds biggest tyre producer. Currently there are more than 300 tyre producing companies in China. 318 million tyres were produced in China in 2005. Of these 148 million were radial tyres. The worlds ten largest tyre companies now have production plants in China or will be setting up a factory shortly in the People?s Republic.

altChinese tyre production covers practically all fields of use, e.g. car tyres, tyres for construction machines, tyres for the agricultural industry, tyres for the aircraft industry, solid tyres or motorcycle tyres. Studies on the tyre market in China have shown that there are several thousand second grade agents of tyre manufacturers in China. In addition there are now countless tyre retailers and repair shops. They all urgently require a trade platform in China for an exchange of information. In Shanghai alone there are over 300 tyre retailers and repair shops.

In 2005 tyre renewal and vulcanization in China accounted for just 4% (share of tyre renewal in new production). The technical and commercial conditions and tax incentives for recycling old tyres are currently being studied by the government departments responsible. Many investors see great growth here and plan to go into this industry. Neither the quantity nor the quality of tyre renewal machines and plants produced in China are able to meet the gradual rise in demand. There is an urgent need for the import of advanced technology andinstallations.

Information on the Chinese automobile market

In recent years the automobile industry in China has developed at a two-digit growth rate. This has given the tyre industry good development opportunities and a bigger market. China produces more vehicles than Japan and is thus the most important car market in Asia.

According to the Chinese Automobile Association, sales in China increased by 25% to 7.2 million units while production rose by 27% to 7.28 million vehicles. The car sector registered the highest increase with a growth of 33% to 5.23 million units produced. Production of commercial vehicles rose to 2.04 million units, a growth of 15%. For 2007 the Association fore casts a growth of 15% to then more than 8 million vehicles.

By 2010 8-9 million vehicles are expected to be produced. Some 55 million vehicles will then be moving on the roads in China that means 40 vehicles per 1,000 people. In Shanghai alone there are 50,000 taxis which, as the law states, are replaced after five years and sold on to neighbouring provinces.
