The largest electric power and electrical fairs in China – The 12th International Exhibition on Electric Power Equipment and Technology/The 5th International Exhibition on Electrical Engineering, Electrical Equipment and Contractors’ Supplies (namely as EP China/Electrical China 2008), which are the only UFI Approved Event of its kinds in China, will be held in China International Exhibition Center, Beijing, PR China from November 12 – 14, 2008.

The market of electric power in China is the world focus. Vigorous industrial development accelerates electricity shortages and demands for advanced technologies to enhance power generating efficiency. Energy consumption of China continues to increase and is forecasted to reach 4500TWh stunning high record by 2015, presented by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). This huge potential increment draws attention from foreign companies to enter the market of China with their latest technologies and equipments.

Organized by the authoritative governmental body of China, China Electricity Council and supported by major power group and power grid corporations in China, EP China/Electrical China have established a direct business platform for foreign suppliers and local buyers since 1986, which are held rotationally in Beijing and Shanghai.

The organizers reviewed that international trade associations and leading corporations will have prominent participation. Apart from the Germany Pavilion, Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Embassy of the USA - US Commercial Service, Spanish Association of Electrical Equipment Manufacturers (AFME), Embassy of the Czech Republic and United Kingdom Trade & Investment will organize official pavilions there. 400 local and international market players such as ABB, Siemens, 3M, Areva, EDF, Chint, Hitachi, Schneider, Hyosung, Japan AE Power, Huadian Switchgear, GE Energy, Daqo, Du Pont, Eaton, Emerson, Mennekes, Hager, Rochling, Tamco, Woehner, etc. will bring their advanced machineries and technologies on display.

Energy consumption in China is surging alongside the economic boom in recent years; pollutant emission from thermal power generation has been recorded high. PRC government is yet setting stringent limits on emission and power consumption under the "11th Five-Year Plan". In line with the national goal and market trend, "2008 International Exhibition on Energy Conservation, Environmental Power and Desulphurization & Denitrification" (ECEP 2008) will be concurrently held with EP / Electrical China 2008.

ECEP 2008 will provide an excellent and effective international platform for overseas suppliers to meet domestic buyers and end-users in China. Leading power corporations in China like Huaneng, Datang, Huadian, Guodian, etc. are planning to showcase their achievements and future development on energy conservation and emission control.

Moreover, large-scale conferences and symposia will be held simultaneously. In the past edition, China International Power Generation Technology Conference was held with a success, assembling 350 delegates from 12 countries/regions and governmental officials to attend and share insights on hot topics.

In coming EP China/Electrical China 2008, it is expected that more than 20,000 visitors from all over China and overseas will attend the fair, of which 6000 visitors are from power corporations, power plants and power grid corporations, power supply bureaus and design institutes.
