The speciality textile yarn and fibre trade event Yarn Expo Autumn is set for 21 - 23 October 2008 at the Shanghai International Convention Centre, Shanghai, China. Yarn Expo showcases yarn and fibre products from China and around the world, including natural, manmade, speciality and fancy varieties.

China International Trade Fair for Fibers and Yarns

The Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council of India (Texprocil) is to organize a national pavilion at Yarn Expo 2004. Around 15 cotton yarn producers from India are expected to participate in this new event, bringing with them the very latest in cotton yarns, information on processing technology, and industry news from their home regions. The Yarn Expo is organized by Messe Frankfurt and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry CCPIT and will be held from March 31 - April 2 2004 at the Beijing National Agricultural Exhibition Center, Beijing.

"The Indian textile industry is one of the largest segments of the Indian economy, accounting for over one fifth of industrial production and 25% of world yarn export trade," says Siddhartha Rajagopal, Executive Director of Texprocil. "With the increasing demand in China for fibers and yarns we feel that it is very important for Indian cotton yarn suppliers to connect with Chinese buyers. Through organizing a pavilion at Yarn Expo we hope to promote Indian products in China and create long lasting business relationships."

China produces millions of miles of textiles each year and the consequent demand for fibers and yarns are tremendous. With China's annual consumption of fabrics rising steadily, domestic suppliers simply cannot produce sufficient materials and manufacturers are looking overseas to fill the gaps in this billion-dollar market.
