International Mineral Processing Congress (IMPC), held every three years, is the premier international event in the mineral processing field, which draws together the mineral processors, researchers, academics and practitioners over the world to exchange, reveal and promote the latest advances and products in regards of the processing of ore resources such as non-ferrous metals, ferrous metals, non-metallic ores and coal, etc. The IMPC has been regarded as the Olympics in the field of mineral processing, impressing the world with high authority, wide participation and great influence.

The IMPC 24th will be held in Beijing International Convention Center from Sept. 23 to Sept 28 in 2008. Besides the technical sessions, a large-scale trade exhibition will be held in conjunction with the congress, demonstrating developments in various aspects in the field of mineral processing, including new equipment, technologies, processes, publications, consultant and engineering services, financing & investment and education & training. Sponsorship Opportunities

The 24th International Mineral Processing Congress (IMPC) in Beijing is one of the premier international events in the mineral processing field. As one of the largest producer and consumer of mineral products in the world, China has made great effort and significant achievement in technological development in the past decades, playing a more and more important role in the global mineral processing industry. Approved by the State Council of China, jointly hosted by CAE, CMA, CNI-A, CISA, CNCA and CBMIA and organized by BGRIMM, the IMPC XXIV will become an unprecedented and spectacular event in IMPC history hosted by China, impressing the world with high authority, wide participation and far-reaching influence.

A range of sponsorship opportunities are available, to suit all levels of budget and marketing aspirations. The packages that have been developed are aimed at providing maximum positive exposure for the sponsor before, during and after the event itself.

There are two types of sponsorship in IMPC 2008: major sponsorship and particular aspect sponsorship. Diamond, Gold and Silver Sponsors are three grades of major sponsorship with separate prices of 500,000 RMB, 300,000 RMB and 100,000 RMB, attaching to different sponsorship package listed below in Table1. There is no grade differentiation in particular aspect sponsorship. The according sponsor content and charge are listed below in Table 2. Sponsors interested may purchase by volunteer or through negotiation. Sponsors paying more than 100,000RMB will enjoy the package with reference to that listed in Table1 and sponsors paying less than 100,000 could enjoy what they want through negotiation.

Plenary Lectures

Ten renowned professors would give their speeches on various topics in the field of mineral processing. There will be two plenary speeches in each day from 24 to 28 September, 2008. The length for each plenary speech is 20 mins, plus 5 mins for questions. The final program for plenary lectures is to be finalized soon.

Oral Presentation

The oral presentations will be allocated in 6 parallel sessions in four and half days. Each presentation takes 20 minutes, including a brief introduction of the presenter by the session chairperson, question time and moving around.

Presenters should prepare their presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint, save the presentation on either CD ROM or USB flash disk and bring it with them to the Congress. All presenters will be asked to copy their PPT on the computer in the Congress preview room while registration or one day before the presentation.

The IMPC2008 requires at least one author/presenter per paper to register for the event and pay the registration fee prior to final programming. Please note that papers without any registrant will be removed from the program and the Proceedings.

Presenters are required to bring one printed brief curriculum vitae (100 words or less) to the Congress and hand it over when register or one day before the presentation. The CV will be used by the session chairperson to introduce the presenter prior to their presentation.

Language

English will be the Congress working language both for written documents, papers and presentations. Various translation services will be offered when necessary.

Invitation Letters

If requested by participants, an official invitation letter will be sent by the Organization Secretariat of IMPC 2008. Such solicited invitations, however, will not offer payment of any expenses, such as fees, Travel or hotel accommodations for the Congress.

Passport and Visa

A valid passport and a visa are required for entry into China. Visas can be obtained from your local Chinese Embassy or the nearest Consulate General. An official visa invitation letter will be sent to the participants by the Congress Organizer (BGRIMM) upon receipt of the registration form.


Currency and Banking

The RMB (Renminbi) is the official currency. The basic unit of RMB is the yuan, also known as kuai, divided into 10 jiao. Yuan notes come in 1, 2, 5, 10, 50 and 100. Foreign currencies in cash or traveler's checks can be changed into Chinese yuan at the airport, banks and hotels.

Banks usually open at 9:00 am and closed at 5:00pm. Credit cards such as American Express, Diners Club, JCB, Master Card and Visa may be used for payments at hotels, and tourist stores.

When visitors leave China, they can change the remaining amount of Chinese yuan back into foreign cash at the airport prior to their departure from China. But if they wish to do so, they have to show foreign currency conversion receipts.

Insurance

The congress organizers do not accept any liability for personal accidents or loss or damage to the private property of any participants during the conference or indirectly arising from attending the conference. It is advisable that participants should take adequate travel and health insurances before leaving their own countries.

Arrival

The Congress will arrange shuttle buses to pick up delegates from the airport to the three Congress designated hotels on 22 and 23 September 2008. The message below will also help you to the hotel and the congress venue during your stay in Beijing.
