Industry Overview

Taiwan’s electronics industry has developed a complete supply chain, enabling the local producers to integrate both vertically and horizontally. Their competitive strengths come from lower manufacturing costs, high flexibility in production, management strategies and excellence in research & developments. Taiwanese companies stand firmly by the gateway of the Greater China market and form the pulsing heart of the global electronics industry.

Taiwanese companies are always at the cutting edge of industry progress. For example, Taiwan’s auto electronics yearly output in the highly profitable automotive sector is projected to grow to NTD150 billion in 2010. On the other hand, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has also invested a total of NTD170 million as of mid-2007 to integrate the upper, middle and lower streams of LED production in order to enhance their competitiveness.

Government continuously provides solid support with favorable policies and initiatives to enhance Taiwan self-developed brands, and also to maintain the long term prosperity of the Taiwanese electronics industry.
