Hunan Normal University

After 70 years' development, Hunan Normal University has 24 colleges, 3 teaching departments, 51 research institutions, and owns 6 key disciplines of national level, 7 key disciplines of “211 Project” and 18 provincial key disciplines. The university offers 72 undergraduate programs, 147 master programs, and 55 Ph.D. programs. There are 10 postdoctoral scientific research stations, 13 State Training and Research Bases or Centers and 2 key laboratories which are jointly constructed by Minister of Education and Hunan Province, set up on campus.

Central South University

Central South University (CSU) is a comprehensive and national key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education in China. CSU was established in April, 2000 on the basis of the amalgamation of the three former individual universities, namely Central South University of Technology, Hunan Medical University and Changsha Railway University. CSU is situated in Changsha, Hunan. Gao Wenbing is secretary of the Communist Party of China's CSU Committee, and Prof.Huang Boyun, an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, is president of CSU.

Anhui University

Anhui University, the key comprehensive provincial institution, is located in Hefei, the beautiful capital city of AnhuiProvince. Founded in 1928 in Anqing and moved to Hefei in 1958, AnhuiUniversity is now a well developed higher institution supported by the government under the State 211 Project.

The main campus covers an area of about 55 hectares, two branch campuses 30 hectares and the new campus which is under construction 135 hectares. Its library has a collection of more than 1.75 million books and over 7000 Chinese and foreign periodicals, and it is equipped with a campus computer network. The University consists of 18 schools, 44 departments, 65 undergraduate specialties,119 master degree programs, 16 Ph.D. programs, and 1 Post-doctor's scientific research station, 4 professional master degree programs, and 2 state-level disciplines, 12 provincial-level disciplines. The University has a staff of 2399, among which 210 are professors and 490 associate professors. The student population totals 28143, in addition to 6466 adult students.

Chinese Academy of Science

As a national key university under the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) aimed at cutting-edge science and technology research and sci-tech based management and humanity studies, USTC was founded in September 1958 in Beijing and chaired by CAS president Guo Moruo. In 1970, it moved to Hefei, Anhui province. As the only university attached to the CAS, USTC fully mobilized its departments to strengthen their ties with CAS research institutes and equipped the devoted hard-working students with a profound theoretical foundation as well as practical techniques. In 1959, the university was included on the list of the 16 national key universities and became the youngest key university in China.

Northeast Forestry University

Founded in 1952, Northeast Forestry University (NEFU) was formed by the combination of both Zhejiang University and Northeast Agricultural College's forestry departments. It is currently one of the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China's key universities and is also one of the universities in the “211 Project”.

Northeast Forestry University is located in the city of Harbin , the center of the region with China's 1argest state-owned forests. Its campus covers more than 136 hectares with teaching buildings, scientific research laboratories and practice sites. In addition, there are still several practice centers which include the Maoershan Experimental Forestry Center (Maoershan National Forest Park) and the LiangShui Experimental Forestry Center (LiangShui State-level Natural Reserve) etc. Therefore,the university has a total area of 33,000 hectares.
