Shenzhen Children’s Hospital trials an appointment system starting Friday. The trial was first implemented at the traditional Chinese medicine department before it was promoted to the entire hospital system. Patients can call 114 to register for the service. Patients can make an appointment to see a doctor up to seven days before a visit and should arrive at the hospital 15-30 minutes earlier than the appointed time to pay registration and treatment fees. The service is expected to reduce waiting time for patients at hospitals. Those who fail to keep an appointment three times will be disqualified. Patients who book an appointment but arrive late will be seen last. The hospital has also set up an adolescent gynecology department, the first at a children’s hospital in Guangdong.
