Business Overview

Established on January 18, 2001, Shanghai Information Services Association (SISA) is a cross-sector, trans-ownership and non-profit industry organization as legal person organized voluntarily by information service enterprises in Shanghai.

Currently, SISA has 230 members including ICPs, ISPs, ASPs as well as value-added information service providers of communication software development, system integration and consulting.

 

SISA has two affiliates, i.e., Online Game Committee and Enterprise Informationization Promotion Committee, and will establish Community Informationization Promotion Committee in 2004 to further complete the organization construction of SISA and provide enterprises with more professional services. It also gives its opinions on issues concerning the common interests of members, and protects their legal rights and interests.

 

SISA's mission is to strictly implement guidelines, policies and regulations of the state, and act as a bridge between the enterprises and government/society; promote the development of informationization, and provide services to the public and members; coordinate business activities in relation to the members, strengthen self-discipline of information service enterprises, and promote the healthy development of information service industry; coordinate business issues relating to membership, and enhance the self-management of information service enterprises, and promote healthy development of the information service industry.

 

SISA's functions include information intermediary service, industry statistics, investigation, information release, notarization, price coordination, economic& technical cooperation and exchange at home and abroad.

 

Since its establishment, SISA has devoted itself to conducting industry development study and analysis (e.g., Study on Weak Links of Information Service Industry) of the government, providing the enterprises with investigation and special reports on key, hot and difficult issues, assisting hi-tech enterprises to obtain policy support, organizing appraisal of "Shanghai Outstanding Websites" and “Online Credit Corporations”, holding E-CBD International Summit Forum, Enterprise Informationization Application Solution Forum and other large events, making industry statistics, providing consulting, promotion, training, investment promotion and other services to the members, carrying out party building work among non-public economic entities under the guidance of the CPC Committee of Shanghai Information Commission, with SISA CPC General Branch and 16 CPC branches of members established.
