Gannan

Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (gān nán zàng zú zì zhì zhōu 甘南藏族自治州) is an autonomous prefecture in southern Gansu Province, China. It is situated in the southwest of Gansu Province (gān sù shěng 甘肃省), neighboring Dingxi (dìng xī 定西) and Longnan (lǒng nán 陇南) in the east and Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture (lín xià huí zú zì zhì zhōu 临夏回族自治州) in the north. It is also bounded on the south by Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture (ā bà zàng zú qiāng zú zì zhì zhōu 阿坝藏族羌族自治州) of Sichuan Province (sì chuān shěng 四川省) in the neighborhood of Guoluo (guǒ luò zhōu 果洛州), and Huangnan Tibetan autonomous prefectures of Qinghai Province (qīng hǎi huáng nán zhōu 青海黄南州) in the west.

The Bayan Har Mountains (bā yán kā lā shān mài 巴颜喀拉山脉) are situated on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau in remote Qinghai Province (qīng hǎi shěng 青海省). Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture (lín xià huí zú zì zhì zhōu 临夏回族自治州) is in Western China's Gansu Province, south of the capital, Lanzhou. It is seated in southwest-central Gansu Province on the upper reaches of the Yellow River. It borders Dingxi City (dìng xī shì 定西市) in the east, GannanTibetan Autonomous Prefecture (gān nán cáng zú zì zhì zhōu 甘南藏族自治州) in the south and the capital city of Gansu, Lanzhou, in the north. With the Anemaqen Mountains forming a naturalboundary, it is also bordered to the west by Qinghai Province (qīng hǎi shěng 青海省).

Introduction of Chen Jiageng
Chen Jiageng (Chén Jiāgēng 陈嘉庚) was born in 1874 in Xiamen City. He lived in Singapore for a long time dealing in rubber trade. In his early days, he joined the Chinese Revolutionary League (Tóng Méng Huì 同盟会), established by Dr. Sun Yat-sen (Sǖn Yì Xiān 孙逸仙) in 1905, and raised financial aid for Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary activities as well as opened Xiamen University and other schools. Chen, who devoted himself to the culture and education and other public services for overseas Chinese, as well as for those in his hometown, was a well-known leader of patriotic overseas Chinese.

Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture
Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (haǐ běi zàng zú zì zhì zhōu 海北藏族自治州) is an autonomous prefecture of northeastern Qinghai province (qīng hǎi shěng 青海省) in Western China. The prefecture has an area of 39,354 square kilometers (15,195 sq mi) and its seat is Xihai Town (xī hǎi zhèn 西海镇), Haiyan County (hǎi yàn xiàn 海晏县). Its name literally means “north of Qinghai Lake”. The prefecture is subdivided into 4 county-level divisions: Haiyan County, Qilian County (qí lián xiàn 祁连县), Gangca County (gāng chá xiàn 刚察县) and Menyuan Hui Autonomous County (mén yuán huí zúzì zhì xiàn 门源回族自治县).
