Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum
(míng xiào líng 明孝陵) is located at the southern foot of Purple Mountain (zǐ jīn shān 紫金山), in the east suburbs of Nanjing City (nán jīng shì 南京市). It is the mausoleum of Zhu Yuanzhang (zhū yuán zhāng 朱元璋), the first Ming Dynasty (míng cháo 明朝) emperor. It was constructed in 1381, and took more than 30 years to complete. With a long history of more than 600 years, it is one of the largest imperial mausoleums existing in China, as a historical monument put under state protection. Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is regarded as the representative of the highest achievement in early Ming Dynasty, and has influenced the form of the imperial mausoleum in the following 500 years.

  Chaotian Palace
In the east of the Mochou Road (mò chóu lù 莫愁路) towards the Water West Gate (shuǐ xī mén 水西门), there lies a towering palace with yellow glazed tiles and red walls on the Yecheng mountain (yě chéng shān 冶城山), setting among the green trees. This is the famous imposing Chaotian Palace (cháo tiān gōng 朝天宫), a group of ancient palace-style buildings which has the highest level, the largest scale and the most complete preservation in the south of the Yangze River (cháng jiāng 长江).

Jinshan Mountain
(jīn shān 金山) is located in the northwest Zhenjiang City (zhèn jiāng shì 镇江市), only 3 kilometers away from the city center. In ancient times, Jinshan Mountain is an island in Yangtze River (cháng jiāng 长江), and was called “a hibiscus in the Yangtze River”(jiāng xīn fú róng 江心芙蓉). Till the Daoguang (dào guāng 道光) era in Qing Dynasty (qīng cháo 清朝), the island connected with the land of the south bank. It is of 44 meters high. Jinshan Mountain is regarded as a “fairy tale mountain”(shén huà shān 神话山) for each scenic spot there has a beautiful story. With its beautiful scenery, it has long been a tourist attraction.

Nanjing Museum (nán jīng bó wù yuàn 南京博物院) is the first large-scale comprehensive National Museum that has been established by the state, which is located at the southern foot of the Zijin Mountain (zǐ jīn shān 紫金山) in Nanjing, north of the Zhongshan Gate (zhōng shān mén 中山门), covers an area of more than 70,000 square meters.

Hanshan Temple

 Hanshan Temple
Located at the Fengqiao Town (fēng qiáo zhèn 枫桥镇), 5 kilometers from Suzhou City (sū zhōu shì 苏州市), Hanshan Temple (hán shān sì 寒山寺) was constructed during Tianjian era (tiān jiān nián jiān 天监年间) in Liang Dynasty (liáng dài 梁代), with a history of more than 1400 years. It was originally called “Miaoli Puming Temple”(miào lì pǔ míng tǎ yuàn 妙利普明塔院) and then changed its name into “Hanshan Temple” for it was said that Hanshan (hán shān 寒山) and Shide (shí dé 拾得), the famous monk during Tang Dynsaty (táng cháo 唐朝), had been the abbot of the temple. It was one of the ten greatest temples of China in history.
