In 2004, Shanghai Bank Museum, the only bank museum in China was inaugurated. It occupies an exhibition space of 1300 square meters and has a collection of 2000 exhibits, with quite a number of rare ones exhibited for the first time. The museum is divided into three parts including "Hall of Transformation of Banking"Currency Hall", and "Temporary Hall". The exhibits are arranged in chronological order from modern times to contemporary times.

As a renowned historical attraction of Shanghai, the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China (zhōng gòng yī dà 中共一大) has received 10 million visitors from home and abroad since its opening 50 years ago, with attendance rising to 1.8 million visitors in recent years after rebuilt in 1999. Situated at No.76 Xingye Road (xīng yè lù 兴业路), next to Shanghai Xintiandi, a fashionable pedestrian area, the two-story Shikumen building was completed in 1920 as the residence of two Communist Party members. On July 23, 1921, thirteen members held their first national congress of the Communist Party of China here, marking the birth of the Party.

The Museum of Medical History in Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, located inside Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, is the earliest special museum of medical history in China. It used to be the Medical History Museum of Chinese Medical Association, founded in 1938, and was affiliated to Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1959.
