Boao

   Boao
Boao
(bó áo 博鳌) is situated at the confluence of Wanquan River (wàn quán hé 万泉河) and the South China Sea (nán hǎi 南海) in Hainan Province (hǎi nán shěng 海南省). It is the place where Boao Forum for Asia held. The beatiful scenery of Boao makes it much more attractive to the tourists.

In Boao, near the sea, there are two islands close to each other, covering an area of more than 800 square meters. During the floodtime, the two islands are seperated from each other, but connect when the tide falls. Therefore, the two islands area called Yuanyang Island (yuān yāng dǎo 鸳鸯岛).

   Yudai Beach
Not far from the Yuanyang Island, there is the Jinniu Mountain (jīn niú lǐng 金牛岭). It is so called beacause it is like an ox. At the foot of the mountain, there are villiages in the coconut forest. On the mountain, there are thick woods, dotted with grotesque rocks. A winding path will lead you to the top of the mountain. Standing on the top of the mountain, you can have a bird’s view of the whole Boao.

On the south bank of the exit of Wanquan River, there is the Yudai Beach (yù dài tān 玉带滩). It is like a long belt, divided up the Wanquan River and the South China Sea. Yudai Beach is the narrowest beach which separates the sea and the river in the world. The widest part of the beach is 300 to 500 meters, while the narrowest part is only about 10 meters. The river scene inboard and the sea outboard form a gorgeous scene with the soft sand.
