Feilong Valley Scenic AreaFeilong Valley Scenic Area (fēi lóng xiá fēng jǐng qū 飞龙峡风景区) is located at the southwestern Zigong City (zì gòng shì 自贡市) of Sichuan Province (sì chuān shěng 四川省). The average height of the peaks in the valley is 365 meters above sea level, while the highest peak is 497.7 meters. Within the scenic area, the mountains are covered with thick vegetations, with clean waters running around them. What’s more, the scenic area is with rich Buddhist cultural deposits.

In the entrance of the Feilong Valley, there is a large area of green terraces. In the sunglow, the terraces are picturesque. While it is raining, they are foggy. Walking in the field will take you to the dreamy world. The archway in the Jianshan Mountain (jiān shān 尖山) is 11 meters high, 14 meters wide, made with traditional crafts.

Terraces in the scenic areaIn the center of the scenic area, there is the Peach Blossom Island. It got its name for tens of thousands peach trees on the island. The island is surrounded by waters on three sides, with bamboo pavilions and buildings hidden among the trees. In spring, the peach blossoms are pink, birds are singing. While it is autumn, countless fruits are hanging on the trees.


Waterfall in Feilong Valley Scenic AreaExcept for the natural scenery, there are historical sites in Feilong Valley Scenic Area.The relic of Caotang Temple (cǎo táng sì 草堂寺) was constructed about 400 years ago. The temple was originally constitute of the Main Hall (zhèng diàn 正殿), the Rear Hall (hòu diàn 后殿), Niuwang Hall (niú wáng diàn 牛王殿), Zaowang Temple (zào wáng miào 灶王庙) and the garden. At that time, there were continuous pilgrims coming here. As time goes by, the temple was ruined. And in 1976, the temple was razed to the ground, only left the six gates of the Caotang Temple. Nearby there is the Changen Temple, which was originally called Shouchang Temple. It is constructed in the third year of the reign of Emperor Tongzhi (tóng zhì huáng dì 同治皇帝) in the Qing Dynasty (qīng cháo 清朝).

Every year, there are colorful activities in the scenic area, such as the Peach Blossom Festival in March (sān yuè táo huā huì 三月桃花会), Cherry Blossom Festival (yīng huā jié 樱花节), Pomegranate Festival in May (wǔ yuè shí liú huā huì 五月石榴花会), and the carnival, which will make your tour much more funny and exciting.
