Haikou
(hǎi kǒu 海口), situated at the north coast of Hainan Island, is the capital city of Hainan Province (hǎi nán shěng 海南省). With an estimated population of 1,766,800, it is the largest city on the island. With favourable climate and rich cultural relics, Haikou attracts many tourists from home and abroad.

Wugong Temple
Wugong TempleWugong Temple (wǔ gōng cí 五公祠) or Five Officials' Temple is located 5 kilometers away from the city center. It was built in memory of five historical celebrities who had been relebrated to Hainan in Tang (táng cháo 唐朝) and Song (sòng cháo 宋朝) dynasties. It covers an area of more than 2800 square meters. With complex structure and the delicate garden, the temple is crowned as the No. 1 Building in Hainan (hǎi nán dì yī lóu 海南第一楼).

Tomb of Hai Rui
Tomb of Hai RuiTomb of Hai Rui (hǎi ruì mù 海瑞墓) is the tomb for Hai Rui (hǎi ruì 海瑞), who was an upright and uncorrupted official in the Ming Dynasty (míng cháo 明朝, 1368-1644). Hainan-born Hai Rui punished treacherous court officials campaigned for the rights of common people. Hai Rui was an official of incorruptible integrity, an outstanding politician, and has been greatly respected by the generations who followed.

Holiday BeachHoliday Beach
Holiday Beach (jià rì hǎi tān 假日海滩) is located in west of Haikou. With verdant coconut threes, white sand beach, and the warms sunshine, it is an ideal place for recreation and relaxation. On the beach, there is the music fountain square, Butterfly garden, and the cereus garden. Besides, you can enjoy various shows performed by the acrobats from Europe and America.

Ma'anling Volcano AreaMa’anling Volcano Area
Ma'anling Volcanic Area (mǎ ān lǐng huǒ shān kǒu 马鞍岭火山口), one of the most well-preserved extinct volcano in the world, is called the Natural Volcano Museum of China by geologists. The south and north peaks rise highly, while the area between them sinks down deeply, resulting in a shape that has given the volcano the name of Ma'anling. On Ma’anling, there is the Guanhai Pavilion (guān hǎi tíng 观海亭), from which you can have a bird’s view of the Qiongzhou Strait (qióng zhōu hǎi xiá 琼州海峡) and the volcanic vent.

Transportation: you can take bus No. 2, 9 in Haikou and get off at Xiuying Stop (xiù yīng zhàn 秀英站), then take a minibus to get there

In addition to the fascinating sights above, there are many other parks and zoos also worth a visit. These include the People's Park (rén mín gōng yuán 人民公园), Jinniu Ling Park (jīn niú lǐng gōng yuán 金牛岭公园), Binhai Park (bīn hǎi gōng yuán 滨海公园) and Tropical Safari Park (rè dài yě shēng dòng wù yuán 热带野生动物园).
