解释 ( paraphrase )
只凭耳朵听很容易得到虚假的东西,只有亲眼见到才是切实可靠的。
这条谚语告诉我们:传言常常是不可靠的,亲自观察才能了解事情的真相。不能只听谣言,要以事实为根据。

This proverb cautions that: hearsay is generally unreliable. The truth can not be obtained without close observation. Rumor should not be believed and facts speak loudest of all.

虚:虚假。
      False.

实:真实。
