Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture

Yanbian (yán biān 延边) is an autonomous prefecture with a population of 2.2 million and covers a total area of about 43,000 square kilometers which is located in the Changbai Mountains (cháng bái shān 长白山) in southwestern Jilin Province, the prefecture borders Russia in the east and is separated from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea by the Tumen River (tú men jiāng 图们江) in the south. Yanbian is a renowned tourist zone. Changbai Mountain Natural Reserved Area, which was authored by UN as "Human and Ecosphere" ; the unique scenery of Tumen River Area, which extends as long as one thousand mileages, the scenery of border, the precious site of ancient Bohai Kingdom (gǔ bó hǎi wáng cháo yí zhǐ 古渤海王朝遗址), and the social customs of Korea nationality attract and enchant a great number of tourists form all over the world.

Changbai Mountains

Changbai Mountains (cháng bái shān 长白山) is named so because its main peak, the White-head Mountain is covered with white rocks and thick snow. It is the highest hilly area in the Northeast of China. The highest peak in the mountain range is as high as 2691 meters. There are mountains vertically and horizontally, with a total area of more than 8000 square kilometers. There are mountains vertically and horizontally. Sixteen mountains among them are over 2500 meters above the sea-level, with a total area of more than 8000 square kilometers. It starts with An'tu (ān tú 安图) County in Jilin province in the north, originates from Fusong (fǔ sōng 抚松) County in the west and extends to the realm of Korea in the south. Changbai Mountain is famous as same as Five Sacred Mountain in China. Because of the white pumice and snow, it is known as "Millennium loose snow for the years, until the first peak on the earth".

Baishan City

Baishan City

Baishan City (bái shān shì 白山市) is located in the west of Mount Changbai (cháng bái shān 长白山) where the natural scene is extremely beautiful, southeast of Jilin province, adjacent to Korean Nationality Autonomous State on the east border, next to Jilin City in the north and lying on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and having Yalu River (yā lǜ jiāng 鸭绿江) between them. The total area of the city is 1388 square kilometers and the total population over 1.3 million. Baishan city takes the natural sceneries of Mount Changbai, the sights of the upper and middle reaches of Yalu River, numerous historical sites and the cross-national tourism on the border of China and Korea as its main contents. Meanwhile, it explores five scenic spots for travelling: Fusong (fǔ sōng 抚松) Scenic Spot, the Badaojiang (bā dào jiāng 八道江) district scenic spot, Linjiang (lín jiāng 临江) scenic spot, Mount Changbai scenic spot and Jingyu (jìng yǔ 靖宇) scenic spot.

 Beidahu Ski Resort

Jilin Beidahu (běi dà hú 北大湖) Ski Resort is an important ski sport base and tourist resort in China. Beidahu's advantageous location surrounded by mountains on three sides guarantee a comfortable weather conditions with very little to no wind in winter. Skiers and snow boarders love Beidahu's varied terrain and enjoy its unpretentious alpine trails amidst peaks in the primitive forest. And Beidahu is the picturesque Rime Scenery which is considered to rival the landscape in Guilin (guì lín 桂林), the Stone Forest (shí lín 石林) in Kunming (kūn míng 昆明) and the Three Gorges (sān xiá 三峡) in uniqueness and it is renowned as one of China's four natural wonders. The Rime scenery occurs 60-70 times a year from October to next March or April.

Beishan Park

Beishan Park

Beishan Park (běi shān gōng yuán 北山公园) is a large, quiet park, situated in the west of Jilin. The park has many interesting features, and is considered an optimum venue for its summer lotus flowers and winter "rimy pines". Originally the park was established in 1927, but has undergone renovations and expansion many times since then. The park is reminiscent of many of the similar areas in Suzhou and Hangzhou, with pavilions, bridges, corridors and terraces well designed and scattered about among the hills. Three small linked lakes run along the foot of the main mountain, and it is possible to take a boat to the islet and pavilion in the center of the lake. In the northwestern corner of the park is a Mausoleum for Martyrs who died during the early Communist years, and the memorial hall has epigraphs by Chairman Mao and other high profile cadre members. The park is also famed for it many holy features. The religious and cultural features are prevalent here with Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian temples all around.
