The Mausoleum of Genghis Khan
The Mausoleum of Genghis Khan
(chéng jí sī hán ling 成吉思汗陵) is a national AAAA level scenic area. It is located in Yijin Huoluo Banner (yī jīn huò luò qí 伊金霍洛旗) of Erdos (è ěr duō sī 鄂尔多斯), which is 180 kilometers away to the south of Baotou (bāo tóu 包头). The present mausoleum was built in 1954. Genghis Khan engaged in expedition all his life, and had ever extended the territory of Mongolia to the middle Asia. His mausoleum is grand and the construction is magnificent.

 Resonant Sand Bay
Situated in the territory of Dalad Banner (dá lā tè qí 达拉特旗), Ordos (è ěr duō sī 鄂尔多斯), Resonant Sand Bay is featured by its amazing desert landscape and the whispering sand dunes. In the conditions of the dry climate, people will hear sounds like a bugle and drumbeat in the sand if they surf along the slopes of the dunes.

Xilin Gol Grassland
Xilin Gol Grassland (xī lín guō lè dà cǎo yuán 锡林郭勒大草原) in Xilin Hot City (xī lín hào tè shì 锡林浩特市), Xilin Gol Prefecture of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, about 600 km north of Beijing (běi jīng 北京). It was established as China’s first grassland biosphere reserve in 1987. ''Xilin Gol'' means ''river on the plateau'' in the Mongolian language. This grassland covers more than 200,000 square kilometers on the Mongolian Plateau.

Wudangzhao Monastery
Wudangzhao (wǔ dāng zhào 五当召) Monastery is situated 70 kilometers (approx. 43 miles) northeast of Baotou (bāo tóu 包头), near a valley named Wudang Gou (wǔ dāng gōu 五当沟). It’s a large Tibetan Buddhist monastery. It is the biggest and the best preserved lama monastery in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (nèi měng gǔ zì zhì qū 内蒙古自治区). 'Bada Gele Monastery' is its Tibetan name, meaning white lotus. 'Wudangzhao' in Mongolian means 'willow', because willows are prosperous in the valley.
