后悔药
Medicine for regret
【注音】hòu huǐ yào
【解释】后悔药就是治疗后悔的药，那种药一定不是滋味，而且或者根本就没有这种药。难怪人们又说：“后悔药哪儿买去呀？”方子就是别做让自己后悔的事。
This medicine must taste awful if it’s really in existence. No wonder people would say “There’s nowhere to buy medicine for regret.” So the only recipe is never to do anything you may regret one day.
 
【例子】
例：
A：哎，我真不该对她撒谎。
B：我当初提醒你不要那么做，怎么样，后悔药难吃吧？

Ex.：
A：I really shouldn’t have lied to her.
B：I’ve warned you not to do that in the very beginning, now, how do you like the taste of regret?

【解释】在背后指使或支持别人的人或组织。
This is a metaphor for people or organization that is behind the scene, acting as the backer.
【例子】
例：这个公司很有钱，一次公关活动就花了一千多万，你知道它的后台老板是谁吗？
Ex.：This company seems very rich. They spent over 10 million yuan in just one promotion. Do you know who is behind them?
